Global Solidarity Activism: Connecting Local and Global Histories

Welcome to this multidisciplinary and global knowledge-exchange research network, based around a series of ongoing workshops that commenced in 2023.

The network and workshop series stems from the long-standing collaboration between Dr Kate Law (University of Nottingham) and Dr Emma Lundin (Malmö University), who are currently running research projects on anti-apartheid activism in the UK and Sweden.

The first workshop – funded by Research England – took place in Friends House in London on 11 March 2023 – and featured presentations from researchers from a range of universities in Europe and beyond. Read more about it here.

We are currently planning two more workshop events – the first one in Malmö, hosted by Malmö University and funded by Riksbankens jubileumsfond in the spring of 2025. A call for papers will be issued before the end of 2024. For more information and to join the research network, please contact Emma at emma.lundin@mau.se.
